Big Lanterns

Big Lanterns is the first album by The Eclecticians. Big Lanterns is a fun, creative, and conscious hip hop album that experiments with many different directions that hip hop could take. From more traditional sounds to vibed out synth chords, each song sounds and feels different. But underneath it all remains the essence of hip hop: dope beats and rhymes.

After dabbling with some collaborations, bace135 and Dj Root started working together more consistently in 2022, creating the group The Eclecticians.  The two have been co-producing beats, recording vocals, and mixing and mastering the final tracks, culminating in the release of the Big Lanterns album in the spring of 2025.

In 2016, Dj Root shared a couple new beats that he had composed amongst his friends. Unbeknownst to Root, bace decided to spit a spare verse over one of the beats. That combo eventually became the song Chill Out and was the start of the musical collboration between Dj Root and bace135.
